Kevin Brosnahan

I am a Consultant at Steindle Williams with nearly 30 years of experience in criminal litigation. Throughout my career, I have represented clients facing a wide range of criminal charges in the District Court, High Court and Court of Appeal. What I have enjoyed most is guiding clients through what can be one of the most challenging times in their lives, providing practical advice, strong advocacy and a steady hand from beginning to end.

Background

Kevin is an experienced criminal litigation lawyer. He began his legal career in 1996 working as Crown prosecutor and general litigation lawyer at the Crown Solicitor’s office in Invercargill, before working as a Crown prosecutor at Meredith Connell in Auckland. After a period practicing law in the UK and Switzerland, he returned to New Zealand and worked in litigation for one of New Zealand’s largest commercial law firms. Since 2003, Kevin has worked in Auckland as a barrister sole, representing clients charged with a range of criminal offences in the District Court and High Court, conducting jury trials and criminal appeals against conviction and sentence in the High Court and Court of Appeal. He has worked closely in a number of homicide trials with some of New Zealand’s leading criminal trial lawyers. Kevin has also assisted counsel acting in high profile High Court multi-party proceedings involving allegations of inappropriate accounting by employees of a multinational company, which ultimately resolved with a settlement prior to the trial commencing.
